"We make drums because we love it. Every day we face new challenges because the best drum is the drum we're building tomorrow. Our philosophy manifests itself in our sounds and our past achievements.
Looking back over the past twenty years it's quite amazing to see how much a small group of dedicated people have achieved. To build a 10" snare for Trilok Gurtu in the early 80's was a challenge. No bottom heads, hacksaw for the bottom rim gate, hand-made snare wires!! 12" presented the same problem. I liked the idea of 12" snares for recording but decided to put a bit of depth to it, hence the 12"x7".
Within a year or so we sold hundreds from "Down Under". Our first drum kits had 8" & 10" toms with bottom heads, which were a special order from other companies back then. Our standard bass drums were 20" x 18", 22" x 18" & 24" x 20". Metal snares greatly outnumbered wood in most applications circa 78 and that situation has turned around markedly.
