Nothing sounds like a Brady because nothing is built like a Brady !

 

Brady is the only company of its kind, able to produce small quantities of their own ply shells, in a revolutionary new method pioneered in 1988. The shells are made in a dry mould system, exluding the introduction of water into the shells, unlike conventional steam-bending techniques. The use of special epoxy resins makes reinforcement hoops and other stability measures unnecessary in a Brady shell, while guaranteeing that they never go out-of-round.

 

We use individual Select Grade plies of Jarrah and Marri timber. These are unique hardwoods indigenous to Western Australia and are much harder than rock maple, with outstanding acoustic properties. The drum is pressed in a straight grain method with all timber grain running in the same horizontal direction around the drum shell (not cross-laminated).  This approach enables the timber to resonate freely, resulting in a sound similar to a solid shell, previously unknown in ply construction.

 

This is a world first and has not been copied by other manufacturers, primarily because mass production is not possible using this technology.

 

Countless international artists regard Brady Ply Drums as most treasured items, ever since their initial release into the drumming community.

 

 

Ply  Drum Kits

are available in the following sizes:

 

Tom Toms:   8" | 10" | 12" | 14" | 16"

Floor Toms:                 12" | 14" | 16" | 18"

Bass Drums:                                        18" | 20" | 22" | 24"

 

We also feature a traditional Bebop Kit fitted with tube lugs on all drums to compensate for extreme high tunings in the sizes:

 12 x 8" TT | 14 x14" FT | 18 x 14" BD.

 

All Tom sizes are available in any depth up to their diameter size.

Bass Drums are available in up to 20" depths.

All drums and drum kits are "shell kits" and come with R.I.M.S. mount and tom bracket, but no additional hardware. Bass Drum brackets & double tom holders can be fitted upon request for an additional charge.
